Welcoming Matt Cusworth to the Fleetware Leadership Team

 

At Fleetware, our people play a critical role in how we support customers and continue to grow. That’s why we’re pleased to welcome Matt Cusworth to the Fleetware leadership team.

Matt joins the business with a strong background in leadership, sales, and team development, bringing experience from more than two decades in the finance industry. For Fleetware, it’s an exciting addition at a time when the business is focused on growth, innovation, and strengthening the way we work with customers.

 

 

A Career Built on Leadership and Relationships

Matt’s professional background spans more than 25 years in the finance industry, much of it based in Western Australia. Most recently, he worked as a State Manager for a mortgage aggregator in Perth, following earlier roles across multiple banks and financial institutions.

Reflecting on his move into Fleetware, Matt explains that the timing felt right.

“After 25 years in finance, I felt ready for a change. I’d spent 12 years with my previous employer and was very fortunate in that role, but I knew my next step would be outside the industry and into something new.”

That desire for change, paired with a long-standing professional relationship with Fleetware’s Brendan Fowler, made the transition a natural one.

 

Bringing Transferable Skills into a New Industry

While telematics is a new industry for Matt, the skills he brings are highly transferable. Throughout his career, he has led growing teams, developed sales strategies, and worked closely with people to help them perform at their best.

“A big part of my previous roles was about growing businesses and supporting people. You learn what motivates teams, how platforms and processes impact performance, and how to create an environment where people can succeed.”

Those strengths align closely with Fleetware’s consultative approach, where understanding customer needs and delivering tailored solutions is central to the business.

 

What Drew Matt to Fleetware

One of the key attractions for Matt was Fleetware’s way of working with customers.

Rather than offering off-the-shelf solutions, Fleetware focuses on understanding each customer’s assets, challenges, and objectives before designing and implementing a solution. This includes onboarding, training, and ongoing support, ensuring customers continue to see value long after installation.

“What stood out to me was the asset-based, consultative model. We identify the problem, design the right solution, implement it properly, and then support the customer over time. That approach really resonated with me.”

 

Looking Ahead

As Matt settles into his role, his immediate focus is on learning the business from the ground up. That includes understanding the technology, the industry, the customer base, and the internal systems that support Fleetware’s operations.

In the medium term, one of his priorities will be strengthening internal processes and helping create space for Fleetware’s leadership team to focus on innovation and product development.

“There’s a lot happening at Fleetware, especially around new products and innovation. Being able to support the business so those ideas can move forward is something I’m really excited about.”

 

Life Beyond Work

Outside of the office, Matt is a busy father of two young children, with family life and kids’ sport taking up much of his time. When he does find a spare moment, he enjoys staying active, spending time at the beach, and getting out on his motorbike.

 

A Strong Addition to the Team

Matt’s experience, leadership background, and people-first mindset make him a valuable addition to the Fleetware leadership team. As the business continues to grow, his role will be key in supporting customers, developing teams, and helping guide Fleetware through its next phase.
